Sun Star made a few 1:18 scale replicas of the De Lorean because, for people who are familiar with the Back the to Future trilogy, the time machine went through a lot of changes in the course of these three movies. In my opinion, this replica is the most beautiful and interesting of them all. It is an ornamental model and, for people who are not very familiar with what 1:18 scale means (like I was before I got these models), it means that the car is approximately 24 cm or 10 inches long. It is not plastic, but metal for the most part, and the doors of the car open. Like in the other De Lorean models, what you get is not only a perfect replica of the exterior of the car, but also of the interior. You can see the time circuits, the gauge indicating the boiler temperature (the boiler of the train that was pushing the De Lorean up to the speed of 88 mph, for those who remember the third movie) and a lot of other interesting details. Adding to this the fact that the car actually stand on a replica of a section of a railway, this model is clearly my favorite. It's the perfect decoration for not only a fan of Back to the Future part III, but also for anybody who can appreciate a very well made scale model. Highly recommended! 1982 DE LOREAN 'BACK TO THE FUTURE III' DIECAST MODEL CAR 1:18
Back to the Future Part III is the third and final installment of the Back to the Future trilogy. The film is a science fiction western, using the time travel premise of the series to take Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) back to the Old West of 1885. Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) receives a 70-year-old letter from his inventor friend, Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd), who tells Marty that he has retreated a century in time to live out a relatively quiet life in the Old West. Doc Brown reveals that he hid his De Lorean car/time machine in an abandoned mine outside town, and when Marty does some research and discovers that the Doc died shortly after writing the letter, he decides to find the car, travel back in time, and warn the Doc about his demise. Meanwhile, the Doc, who has fallen in love with a local woman (Mary Steenburgen), realizes he can't hide in the past from the problems he has caused to the time flow in the previous two adventures. He reluctantly decides to return to the present with Marty, but first, they have to find a way to get the De Lorean up to time-travel velocity with a broken fuel line and no gasoline.
