ERTL: POLICE CAR FROM DICK TRACY

 

In the film, the police all drive 1937 Ford Standard Fordor Sedans, and in some scenes several of them are shown. The model is correctly finished in two-tone colours with a white upper and black lower half. An accurate police star is printed on the front doors in gold, but the model lacks the lights and sirens of the cars in the film. Although this is the same basic model as Tracy's car, it is made to a smallerscale. Shop here

4 DICKY'S CAR IN PACKAGING

The four models were packaged on individual blister cards. These had a yellow background, with a movie logo in the top right hand side, and a stylised cityscape underneath. Rather strangely, the city scene showed a pair of 1950s era cars! Shop here

ERTL: ITCHY'S CAR FROM DICK TRACY

Itchy is a villain who, as his name suggests, can't stop scratching himself. In the film he drives a big, red 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Sports Sedan. This car appears in two major scenes; when itchy and the psychotic Flattop burst through a garage door in order to bump off a group of rival criminals; and later when they kidnap Tracy and take him to Big Boy's hideout. The model is larger and heavier than the other three, and is closer in size to a Hot Wheels car. This is possibly the only model made of a Chevy Master Sedan.

There were generally pretty nice models, although realism was slightly marred by the movie logo being tampo printed on the car boots (or on the dickey seats of the coupes). Surprising, the most eye-catching car in the film was not modelled...a bright pink Auburn 852 Speedster driven by Madonna's character. Breathless Mahoney. Shop here

ERTL: TRACY'S CAR FROM DICK TRACY

                    

Dick Tracy's Car was a 1936 Ford V8 Deluxe 5-Window Coupe and it was used in serveral scenes in the film. Painted black, it has a black interior, chromed grille and headlights, and the bonnet vents touched in with silver paint-as do the other three models. These two-door coupes were very popular choices for young, single men in the 1930s.Shop here

DICK TRACY - TESS' CAR FROM DICK TRACY

 This vehicle is seen briefly in the film, where it is driven by Tess Trueheart. Tess, played by Glenne Headly, was Tracy's long-suffering girlfriend, and in the comic strip would go on to become his wife. The car was a 1937 Plymouth Business Coupe in bright red. The model is quite accurate, but is slightly smaller than the others. Shop here

ERTL COLLECTIBLES MONKEES DIECAST COLLECTOR VEHICLE

THE MONKEE MOBILE 1:18 Scale 2002 American Muscle / Ertl Collectibles MONKEES Die-Cast Collector Vehicle. It vaguely resembled a GTO, but what started out as a "goat" emerged as pure "Monkee!" When customizer Dean Jefferies was contracted to build a car for the TV show about a rock group and its zany misadventures, he knew just what was needed. While the front grille sported a GTO emblem, Jefferies' extensive modifications included a tall split windshield, and extra row of seats where the rear deck was, a T-bucket convertible top, large fender flares and exapperated taillamps. The engine sported a 6-71 supercharger, although the blower was a dummy, as the car had too much power and was difficult to drive with the original blower.

CORGI: STARSKY AND HUTCH FORD GRAN TORINO

The red and white ‘Starsky and Hutch Ford Gran Torino’ capitalized on the highly successful American ‘cop’series and captured the imagination well. However, its contours were a little crude and the wheels were far too small. The white stripe label was also prone to being poorly aligned. Early versions of this 1/35th scale model had clear windows and a yellow interior, and featured posed figures of Dave Starsky and Ken Hutchinson apprehending a suspect. Later versions had solid black windows without any interior or figures, but it did gain twin rear aerials due to the casting being altered slightly for the Corgi Torino Road Hog. Production ceased in 1985/86. A limited run included the Junior version in the same box.

In the early 1990s the second-generation Toyota Supra was introduced to the automotive market. With 320 horsepower, this was a car capable of 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds. It quickly became a popular car for the aftermarket performance shops. From upgrading turbos and adding performance exhaust, this car didn't need much to be a rocket ship.

Today, the Toyota Supra is one of the leading cars to "tune" for big-time performance. Japanese tuners are getting upward of 600-800 horsepower from these six-cylinder cars.

This is brand new 1:18 scale diecast model of 1995 Toyota Supra From "The Fast And The Furious" Movie die cast model car by ERTL. It has steerable wheels, rubber tires, made of diecast with some plastic parts and plastic display stand with window box. Detailed interior, exterior, engine compartment. ERTL ECTO 1 GHOSTBUSTERSS DIECAST CAR

Ghostbusters is a 1984 comedy film about three eccentric New York City parapsychologists-turned-ghost exterminators. The film was released in the on June 8, 1984. It was produced and directed by Ivan Reitman and stars Bill Murray, Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, and Ernie Hudson. With inflation adjustments, the film's original release grossed over US$500 million in the U.S., making it one of the highest grossing films of 1984 and the 31st highest grossing film of all time, domestically.

After being kicked out of their university, parapsychology professors Spengler, Stantz and Venkman decide to go into business for themselves by trapping and removing ghosts from haunted houses. They establish "Ghostbusters", an organization described by Venkman as a "professional paranormal investigations and eliminations" service, using an old firehouse as their headquarters, a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Ambulance dubbed "Ecto-1" as transport.

The Ectomobile, or Ecto–1 is a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor limo-style endloader combination car (hearse) used in the 1984 film Ghostbusters and other Ghostbusters fiction.
This vehicle was purchased by Ray Stantz for the relatively high price of $4800 in a poor state of repair. In Stantz' own words, it needed "suspension work and shocks, brakes, brake pads, lining, steering box, transmission, rear-end, new rings, mufflers, a little wiring...." It is assumed that Ray continues listing needed repairs after this scene cuts away. It has a distinctive siren wail. Its features include a special pull-out rack in the rear containing the staff's proton packs, which facilitates a quick retrieval without the complication of having to reach into the vehicle's rear. There are also various gadgets mounted on the top, whose function is never revealed in the movies.

JOYRIDE 1/18 SMOKEY & THE BANDIT 1977 TRANS AM

Smokey and the Bandit is a 1977 movie starring Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, Jackie Gleason, Jerry Reed, Pat McCormick, Paul Williams, and Mike Henry. It inspired several other trucking films, including two sequels, Smokey and the Bandit II (originally known as Smokey and the Bandit Ride Again in the U.K.), and Smokey and the Bandit Part 3. There were also a series of 1994 television movies from original director/writer Hal Needham loosely based on the earlier version, with Emmy-winning actor Brian Bloom now playing Bandit. The three original movies introduced two generations of the Pontiac Trans Am (while the TV-movie version drives the Dodge Stealth). The film was the second highest grossing film of 1977, beaten only by Star Wars.

The movie was filmed primarily in Georgia in the cities of McDonough and Jonesboro. The scenes in Texarkana were filmed in Jonesboro and the surrounding area, and many of the chase scenes were filmed in the surrounding areas and in McDonough. The scene at the race track was filmed at Lakewood Speedway at the old Lakewood Fairgrounds on the south side of Atlanta. The roller coaster seen in the movie was the Greyhound. It had not been used for some time and was repainted for the first Smokey and the Bandit film. It was destroyed in the second film and a flash back scene used in the third.

The film made use of five modified 1977 Pontiac Trans Ams that were each built according to the required stuntwork. All were damaged during the rigors of filming the stunts. The particular car used to jump over the river towards the middle of the movie was reportedly totaled doing the stunt.
